Tips for telling a powerful story

Be Honest and Vulnerable

While sharing love and acceptance is always a good thing, you shouldn't be shy about letting people understand doubts and fears, even missteps. Your true journey is what's going to be most powerful.

Be Specific

Specific moments and feelings are more powerful than generalizations. Share whatever is most meaningful to you. Some ideas include the experience of your child coming out, your own journey in understanding your child, facing discrimination, figuring out how school works, finding care, moving for safety.

We Can Help

If you have the perfect video or written story, great! Most people don't. It's fine to share a rough draft. It will provide a starting point that we can help you craft into the story that captures your truth.
